So what exactly is Hibachi Ginger Sauce? It is a flavorful slightly sweet yet slightly tangy sauce served in Japanese steakhouse and can be used for dipped pretty much EVERYTHING!#somuchyum

This Japanese Steakhouse dipping sauce is surprisingly easy to make. You only need 5 ingredients (and a few optional additions) and they’re all items you probably already have in your pantry.
- onion – you can use red or yellow onion.
- ginger – fresh ginger root is preferable and peeled.
- lemon juice – the juice from about 2 lemons.
- rice wine vinegar – but I have use apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar instead.
- Tamari soy sauce – Use a gluten free soy sauce or regular soy sauce to your preference.
- optional: maple syrup (but highly recommended as it balances out the tart flavors).

Once frozen, pop out the individual ice cubes of seasoning and then add them into a labeledZiploc bag. Store in your freezer for up to 3 months.
- Note: a siliconice cube traywill make your life much easier.
- Meal Prep – You can easily double or triple this recipe to make extra for other meals or freeze them for later use.
Chef’s Tip==> You canadd the frozen sauce cubes directly into soups, stews, or any recipe you are cooking. But if using them as a dipping sauce, you will need to thaw the cubes first.

Can I Use Ground Ginger Instead Of Fresh Ginger?
You certainly can. Fresh ginger, along with all the other fresh ingredients gives a better flavor. But also fresh ginger adds chunkiness to the sauce. However, if you prefer then please use the powdered version to your taste.

We absolutely love this dipping sauce with everything. We tend to eat it with Hibachi Fried Rice and delicious Hibachi Shrimp made in the Air Fryer.
We also love it with Simple Hibachi Chicken, delicious grilled steak or grilled chicken, simple fries rice, Air Fryer Egg Rolls and Air Fryer Whole Chicken, grilled vegetables and sushi.

- 1 onion peeled and cut into 8 wedges

- ¾ cup (175ml) Tamari soy sauce or regular soy sauce if not gluten free
